Amazing Places: The Shore Birds of Maryʼs Point & Johnsons Mills

Each year in the middle of a long migration, millions of shorebirds converge on the mudflats of the Bay of Fundy. They stop to fatten up and rest for their journey to wintering grounds in South America. Massive flocks of semipalmated sandpipers swarm over the bay and in doing so display unbelievable agility, and speed. This short documentary explores Mary’s Point and Johnsons Mills through the lens of this truly amazing migration.

This film was produced by VIDEOBAND and commissioned by the UNESCO designated Fundy Biosphere. It was funded by Mountain Equipment Co-op and Parks Canada, with in-kind support from Dr. Ian Mauro, Mount Alison University and The Postman Post Production Studio.
